Upcoming CFR Research School in Retailing

Stockholm School of Economics announces an upcoming CFR Research School in Retailing consisting of four courses primarily aimed at PhD Students doing research in the area of retailing.
 

• Purpose: to strengthen retail research both nationally and internationally. The aim is to build a foundation for both academically and practically relevant retail research.

• Content: Four PhD courses covering a broad range of retail topics, delivered by top-level researchers. All courses are intertwined with a number of industry collaborations (Business Collaboration Events). This ensures that the research school is focused not only on theoretically relevant research, but also on practically relevant research topics that can strengthen retailing in society.

• Participants: The research school lays a foundation for a network of researchers, including PhD candidates, alumni, faculty and practitioners. In 2018, 25 PhD candidates from 16 universities in eight countries participated in the first edition of the research school. In 2020, 22 PhD students from 15 universities in 7 countries were part of the program. In 2022, those numbers were 23 participants from 15 universities in 11 different countries.

Theme: Sustainable International Business: Being Resilient under New Realities

We are excited to bring together a diverse group of scholars, researchers, and professionals here in Sweden, to discuss and explore various aspects of sustainable international business at the Consortium for International Marketing Research (CIMaR) conference.

In this conference, we delve into the resilience of international business in the face of evolving global realities. We will explore the intersection of marketing strategies and ethics, corporate social responsibility, and sustainable business practices, but also implications of digitalization, sustainable development goals (SDGs), and the challenges, opportunities and impacts in geopolitical contexts. Where Resilience, the ability to withstand, cope, adapt and quickly recover from stresses and shocks, is becoming a central concept in Sustainable International Business.
